Alana turned around and saw James Morris standing behind her. She was surprised that he knew her name. She was about to say something when he interrupted her.

"Alana, I have been watching you the whole evening and I must say you are a beautiful young lady," he said with a charming smile.

Alana didn't know how to react. She was looking at the floor but still she can felt his gaze on her.

"Thank you, Mr. James," she said politely.

"Please call me James," he said, taking her hand and kissing it.

Alana got startled and pulled her hand back.

"I'm sorry, but I don't understand why you are being so nice to me," she said, feeling confused.

James chuckled. "Well, I have a proposal for you, Alana," he said, looking at her with a serious expression.

"A proposal?" Alana repeated, feeling nervous.

"Yes, I want you to marry me," James said, taking her hand again.

Alana was taken aback. She had just met him, and he was already proposing to her. She didn't know what to say.

"I'm sorry, James, but I can't marry you. I barely know you," she said, trying to sound firm.

James looked at her with disappointment in his eyes.

"I understand your hesitation, Alana, but I promise you that I will make you happy. I will give you everything you want," he said, trying to convince her.

Alana shook her head. "I'm sorry, James, but I can't decide this. I need some time to think," she said, pulling her hand away.

James nodded. "I understand. Take all the time you need, but remember that I will be waiting for your answer," he said, walking away.

Alana watched him leave, feeling confused and scared. She didn't know what to do. She knew that her aunt and uncle would force her to marry James if they found out about his proposal.

Alana decided to talk to Daniel about it. She knew he would understand her situation.

The next day, Alana met Daniel at the college cafeteria. She told him everything that had happened at the party.

Daniel got wound up as he heard what Alana said and then started yelling at her, "Alana you're supposed to marry me but not that rich brat, I am your f***ing boyfriend, not him ", he said furiously walking away.

Alana got surprised by Daniel's reaction, As she thought he would understand her situation and help from this stress.

Alana was seating in the cafeteria alone and was still surprised by what just happened a while ago.

Chloè was walking by the cafeteria when she saw Alana seating alone, she headed towards Alana and saw her teary eyes, " Oh dear Alana, why are you crying? Did something happen to you ?", she asked curiously.

Alana hugged Chloè and started sobbing on her shoulders, Alana explained her situation to Chloè.

Chloè listened to her patiently and spoke " Don't worry Alana we'll find a way to get you out of this trouble.

Alana felt relieved to hear Chloe's words. She knew that she was the only person who truly cared for her.

But little did Alana know that her life was about to change forever.
